Counting In
48”Wx57H”
Art Quilt, 2016
Fabric, thread, machine pieced, machine quilted, Painted with Acrylic Paint
This quilt started from an old machine appliqued portrait of me that I did in the mid 1970’s. It was very small but I wanted to finish it, so I added a wide border, then machine quilted it and decided that I needed to make these marks on it to help overcome the life-long feeling of not mattering or not counting.
The painted marks on the surface represent counting me in, so therefore I MATTER.
